Community Guidelines

You are expected to follow the guidelines

“of the poet’s heart” believes that to enjoy the vulnerability of poetry requires cultivating inclusive and safe environments for us all. To uphold that standard, please see the following community guidelines that are to be enforced in all platforms pertaining to “of the poet’s heart”:

1.    Derogatory language, symbols of hatred, racism, antisemitism, religious intolerance, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, gender discrimination, ageism, ableism, and other forms of dehumanizing language will not be tolerated and banned on sight. This includes messages as well as usernames and avatars.

2.    Targeted harassment will not be tolerated and can result in being kicked or banned.

3.    Please respect how somebody wants to be referred to (e.g. she/her, he/him, they/them). If you don’t know how somebody wants to be referred to, please use they/them. Refusal to do so can result in disciplinary action.

4.    Please keep conversations to relevant channels where such channels exist (such as on Discord). If a channel seems to be derailed, please calmly refer people to the correct channel or contact the a Moderator.

5.    In Discord, before asking for resources, check relevant channel Pinned Messages to see if the resource is already available

6.    Be kind and courteous to one another. If you feel abused or threatened, do not hesitate to contact a Moderator to step in and defuse the situation.

7. If you have access to tier exclusive materials, do not distribute them outside of the assigned channels in any discord server, including this one.

8. If you have a suggestion, concern, or question, you can also message ofthepoetsheart@gmail.com to submit a ticket and we’ll be able to communicate with you privately!

9. Be aware that disciplinary action might result in losing current and/or future access to any or all platforms on which “of the poet’s heart” communicates with the community. Even lifetime access to platforms and materials can be revoked for egregious or repeat offenses. There will be no refunds if your access is revoked as part of maintaining the inclusive and safe environment of our community.
